Hey everyone

The new Annual Catalog has been available for a month already. Have you had a chance to check it out? I'd love to hear what new stamps or new color you are most excited about.

When a new catalog is released I always look forward to having new colors to play with. With the Color Revamp this year, we have even more colorful fun than normal! Even so, you won't want to overlook the new 2018-2020 In Colors. If you've noticed bright, bold, primary-type colors showing up in fashion and decor, you'll know that the 2018-2020 In Colors are right on trend. I'm excited to have these dramatic colors to create with and think you will be, too!

For your Color Inspiration this month, I'm sharing samples that feature an ombre watercolor effect and the color block technique with three of the newest In Colors. Enjoy!

Happy Stamping!
Angela

This month I'm excited to share projects that feature the newest In Colors. The 2018-2020 In Colors are bold, bright, and fun. Just looking at them brings a smile to my face! The three featured In Colors are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, and Pineapple Punch.

The first card highlights the lovely new colors using the color block technique. Detail and texture were added to the strips of color by stamping with the Perennial Birthday stamp set. The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls add the perfect finishing touch to this clean and simple design.

For the second card uses the Love What You Do stamp set, ink pads, and an Aqua Painter to create an ombre watercolored background.

Give this summery color combination an try, I'd love to see what you create.

Nature's Poem Suite &
Big Shot Embossing Mats

Stampin' Up! Inspiration Project

The new catalog is so full of amazing things that it's easy to miss some treasures. One of my top picks is hidden on page 221 - the Big Shot Embossing Mats. These clever mats help you get more bang for your buck by creating embossed images using any of your Framelits, Thinlits, or Edgelits dies. That is magical! Here's my take on the Nature's Poem Suite from pages 142-144 with embossing using framelits!

Nature's Poem Suite & Big Shot Embossing Mats

Create the Sandwich

To emboss with framelits, layer Big Shot Platform on bottom, Standard Cutting Pad, line up 3 leaf framelits with cutting edge up, 4" x 5-1/4" Mint Macaron cardstock (one narrow edge over framelits), thin blue Silicone Rubber Mat, white Impressions Pad.

Emboss

Run layered "sandwich" through Big Shot. You won't feel much resistance. Remove top layers to reveal embossed leaves! Adhere layer to Blackberry Bliss card front. Add 2-1/2" x 4" Nature's Poem paper to left edge.

Stamp & Punch

Stamp "Thinking of You" greeting with Blackberry Bliss ink and leaf image with Mint Macaron ink on Whisper White cardstock. Punch greeting and scrap Blackberry Bliss with 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Die cut leaf image with coordinating framelit.

Embellish & Send

Tear ends of 1/4" x 4" and 1/2" x 4" pieces of Nature's Poem paper. Cut 5/8" Burlap Ribbon to 4", fray ends. Layer strips and ribbon and adhere with Glue Dots. Add greeting circles and leaf with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Product of the Week: Stampin' Blends

Color and blend like an artist with these high quality alcohol markers.

Why You’ll Love Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers:
  • Add just the right amount of color where you need it with the brush tip or fine-point.
  • Each color (except Ivory and Bronze) has a light and dark shade marker, available to purchase individually or as a combo pack (both shades).
  • Stampin’ Blends are not refillable.  However, you can purchase colors individually when you need to replace them.
  • Stampin’ Up! has done in-house testing for evaporation and life testing and is really happy with the results.
  • Press fit seal prevents air from entering the barrel and causing evaporation.
  • The nestable lids are easy to keep track of and have a tight fit for long-lasting color.
