Off to the County Fair

THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME. Today I entered some of my projects in the Lake County Fair. Who would have ever thought.

In the past I have dabbled in many different hobbies, but I was never able to finish anything.  Rubber stamping has been such a great discovery for me. To think I just started stamping a few years ago.

I went for the gusto and submitted the maximum number of entries in the Division called Rubber Stamping Art.

Last night I stayed up late finishing Entry #1. This was my first attempt at making a "hanging picture".  Usually I just make cards.  But I figured I could put something together using odds and ends of materials I had on hand and this is what I came up with.

Apologies for the pictures. I took them in the car en route to the fairgrounds. I was trying not to miss the 6pm deadline.
ENTRY #1 RUBBER STAMP ART:  Paper, framed ready for hanging

I used a retired hostess stamp set, along with current stamps and DSP. I will list all the material I used later when I have time...after posting these pictures, I have to catch up on some much neglected housework.

I used lots of the the new In-Color Summer Startburst.
I'm really starting to like this color.
It's unexpectedly rich and sophisticated.

Ah, yes. Many moments left for stamping!

I entered a total of 8 projects. Several were projects I completed during the past year.

I noticed that my stamping has progressed as I've come into my own style of doing things. That's pretty exciting to see.

But I still have so much more to learn! I don't want to get stuck in a rut or routine. There are just too many great things to make, techniques to explore, materials to play around with, etc. The skies the limit!

Here are my other entries.
ENTRY #2 RUBBER STAMP ART:  Paper, framed ready for hanging
ENTRY #3 RUBBER STAMP ART: Tin & Boxes
ENTRY #4 RUBBER STAMP ART: Tin & Boxes
ENTRY #5 RUBBER STAMP ART: Greeting Cards
ENTRY #6 RUBBER STAMP ART: Greeting Cards
ENTRY #7 RUBBER STAMP ART: Any other Rubber Stamp Art
ENTRY #8 RUBBER STAMP ART: Any other Rubber Stamp Art
(I entered a left over candle from a set I made at Convention)
Here's my box of goodies ready to deliver to the fair.
I made it on time! Next year I'm going to enter even more stuff!

I was playing with my paper and punches last night and came up with a few little cards.  I might make some more just for the fun of it.

 They are all 3 x 3 cards
