A weekend holiday making Valentine's cards

Here is a set of projects I made using a tutorial from Chat Wszelaki at Me, My Stamps and I.

They were all made using the Hearts a Flutter Bundle (131097) and More Amore Specialty Designer Paper (129309) from the Spring catalog. There's also some other beautiful items added in from the Spring catalog such as the Paper Doilies (129399), Designer Builder Brads (129329) and Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406).

I love these brads!

Do you still need a Spring Catalog?
Let me know and I will get it to you along with a Sale-a-bration brochure.

Last weekend I drove down to Santa Barbara and stamped with my daughter, her husband Rick and my sister Theresa.

Here is Michaela and Rick making their first cards!
And here's my sister Theresa working on her card.  My sister is a very talented stamper and she just signed up as a new demonstrator!

It was nice taking some time off to spend with family.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! products or want to know how to join the fun.

Hugs and blessings,

Angela

Celebrating 21,401 page views

I just checked my blog views and saw I've got over 21,000 views! Time to celebrate!

Who would have thought my little blog would have over 21,000 blog views...now 21,401. So awesome.

I remember being so nervous when I first started blogging. Okay, I still get nervous, but that's because I'm a perfectionist. But wow, I'm so really thrilled to have a real live blog going.

The secret has been being part of the PAL community. What is a PAL? A PAL is someone under Mary Fisher's Stampin' Up demonstrator team. I signed up with her in May 2012 and here I am today with 21,401 blog views!

I am now going to give a shout out to anyone who would like to be on my Kindred Stampers team which makes you automatically a PAL too! If you're not sure what I'm talking about, basically you pay $99 for a starter kit, choose $125 of cool Stampin Up products and get a 20% discount on future purchases. Pretty easy.

Plus starting on January 22, you'll get an extra 25% of cool stuff of your choice to add to your starter kit. Oh, and you don't pay shipping for any of this. Woo hoo!

If you join the Kindred Stampers team, I'm here for you.  No matter what your goals are, I'm here to support you 100%. It's totally okay to sign up as a hobby demonstrator and never sell a single product to anyone. You'll get no pressure from me. But if you want to make some extra money, I'll show you how to do that too.

In summary,

The starter kit is awesome.
You choose what you want
You get free shipping
AND
Starting January 22, you get 25% more of whatever YOU want.

CLICK HERE TO GET STARTED or email me at angela@kindredstampers.com for more info.

Stampin' Trimmer Review & First YouTube

I made my first YouTube video!

I decided to make it so you could see me talking rather than just showing my hands demonstrating a project.

I realized that I really like making videos. Maybe it's from my singing background.  I took voice lessons for about 10 years and was even on stage as a fairy in a Gilbert and Sullivan  production of Iolanthe for the Lamplighters in San Francisco. Yes, I was about (x!?xx) pounds lighter than I am now, but I can still remember some of the songs!

Here's my video.

It's a review of the new Stampin' Trimmer.  If you don't have this trimmer yet, get it NOW! It's wonderful!

Happy Retirement Barbara!

My friend and co-worker named Barbara retired last week.

We had a very nice party for her and I was commissioned to make a special card for her.
I thought all weekend about it and came up with a "card album".

It's actually a pedestal card with a mini album adhered to the top.

The mini album has pages for people to write comments.  To make the album, I used the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder on Baja Breeze and cut using the Top Note Bigz Die. I then accordian folded it to fit the small pieces of Whisper White inserts which were stamped with a variety of sentiments.

And the inside of the main section of the card also had room for writing.
(You'll just have to trust me on that because I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the main card.)

Happy Retirement Barbara!

2012 Year in Review - Part one

Before getting too far into the New Year, I wanted to take a moment to look back at few of my favorite projects and events from 2012.

The biggest event was re-joining Stampin' Up! as demonstrator on May 1st. I missed being a demonstrator so much! I had been a demonstrator for about 6 months in 2011, then dropped out because I didn't make my minimums (ask me about this if you have questiions, but I won't explain it all here).

After I rejoined, I just knew I wanted to go to Convention, but wasn't sure if I would really do it.  But just as I could not resist rejoining Stampin' Up!, I also couldn't resist not going to Convention. So my other big event was attending my first ever Convention and loving every minute of it!

Here's some highlights starting with February (I don't have picture from January so have to start with February)

FEBRUARY
My February highlight is all about making my light box. Before I constructed my light box, my pictures would come out yellow and dark. When I figured out I needed a light box, I turned to YouTube for instructions and this is what I made. I still use this box, but should really make a new one because this one is starting to fall apart. Hey, but it still works!

Want to know how to make a box? Click here for more details..

MARCH
My gosh, but after looking through my March blog posts, I realize March was a busy month. I discovered card challenges and found a few I especially enjoyed like Mojo Monday and the Paper Crafter's Library Makeover challenges.  I just loved the idea of being challenged to use up my stash.

Even though I never made a "winning" card, I'm most proud of this one with the sweet little birds. I ended up submitting it as an entry to our local County Fair and actually got a Blue Ribbon for it! More than getting a prize, I like it because it makes me feel happy.

APRIL
I was all about making cards for my co-workers in April.  As a social worker, I work with some really incredible people and it's fun to share with them.  This card was great because it fits so well with my line of work. You have to read my blog post to know what I'm talking about. But even then, it may be hard to understand the humor without actually being a social worker.  Sorry...

MAY
I liked this card a lot. It was a good workshop card that I think people enjoyed making.  Cheery, simple and with a great message.

JUNE
I'm officially a "PAL" in June after re-joining Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator.  I jumped right in and participated in my first blog hop.  I ended making up a bunch of these cards as swaps for Convention later in the summer.

I'll have to catch up with my reminiscing at a later date. Tomorrow is a big day for Stampin' Up! since it will be the first day the new Spring Catalog is launched and the Sale-A-Bration brochure goes live! So exciting!

If you want a spring catalog, let me know. I'll get one to you for a couple of bucks.

Until later, thanks for stopping by,
Hugs & blessings, Angela
