Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful day with friends and family. I went to see the movie the Hobbit after eating a meal of homemade enchiladas. Yum!
I wanted to share some cards I made last month but never got around to posting. I made them with my friend Cheryl and three young ladies.
I got the template for the One Sheet Wonder used to make these cards from Flowerbug's Inkspot. We made a total of 10 cards each. It was a marathon of card making but fun nevertheless!
Looking at these cards makes me want to burst out in Christmas carols. Fa la la la la....
God bless,
Angela

Pals Trick or Treat (Blog Candy) Halloween Hop!
Thank you for joining us for the Pals Halloween Blog Hop. We hope
you enjoy our virtual trick-or treat hop where you will either learn
great tricks for your creative projects or enjoy a blog candy treat.

If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along
from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
Now here's what I have to share with you today.

At first glance, it looks pretty tame.
But once you pull the ribbon out pops your packet of popcorn!
I definitely call that a treat!!!
Notice how I used my black Stampin' Marker to add the
extra spiders to the strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Markers really did
the "trick" for me here!

Ink: Black Stazon and Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories: Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Black 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (Retired)

Maple Leaf with a little Thumping
Today I have another Fall card to share.
There's a few simple techniques I used to give the card some special qualities.
I used the "Thumping" technique to color the top Maple Leaf. The colors are literally "thumped" on with colored markers. I used Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers for a variety of Fall colors.
I also inked up my Woodgrain Embossing Folder in Baked Brown Sugar ink before running through my Big Shot. It's a Letter Press technique that adds an extra depth and richness to the look.
I will be demonstrating these techniques at my class on Wednesday for local folks. I hope you can come!

Truly Grateful in Faux Silk
Here is a card we will be making at my card class next week. It is made using a "faux silk" technique which incorporates the use of tissue paper to create the "silk" look. Basically you stamp on the tissue paper, scrunch it up, then attach it to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. It's really a lovely look.
The ingredients of this card include the Magnificent Maple stamp which is priced at an easy $9.95 and that's for a wood stamp! The color of the fallen leaves are Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry. This was the first time I used the Crushed Curry ink and I really love it.
Possibly the most popular accessory for the Fall season is the Burlap ribbon which holds the images together. It's really wonderful to work with and adds so much.
Card Recipe
Stamp sets: Magnificent Maple, Truly Grateful
Paper: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla cardstock
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso
Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Labels Framelits, Big Shot

A Swallowtail metamorphosis
I felt like heat embossing tonight while hanging out with my friend Shauna. I pulled out the not so shy Swallowtail stamp for a coating of Pool Party embossing powder and made history.
It was Shauna's first time heat embossing and I loved hearing her reaction to the chemical change that occurs as the embossing powder melts into a solid work of art. Kinda seems appropriate we were doing a butterfly as there was a metamorphosis going on right before our eyes.
I really love heat embossing even though I don't do it a lot. Tonight we added a little Champagne Mist shimmer paint onto the our image. Both the Champagne Mist and the DSP I used on this card are retired products, but everything else is current.
Here's our card for tonight.
Card Recipe
Stamp Sets: Swallowtail, Too Kind (sentiment)
Paper: Cardstock is Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit, DSP is retired
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Emboss Powder in Pool Party, Stitched Satin Ribbon in Summer Starfruit, Large Oval Punch
Tools: Heat tool
I've been cutting up some of my retired DSP's into small packets to use as door prizes for my in-home classes.
I also made this "Book to Look" board to encourage bookings.
There are five 3x3 envelopes with tags inside that have a gift written on it. A party attendee who books a class withing the next two months will receive the gift at the time she has her workshop. In addition, the person hosting the party that day also gets the same prize. How cool is that!
Don't you just want to pull on that string and see what the prize is?Possible prizes include Baker's Twine, Kraft Gift Boxes, Stampin' Marker, Stampin' Sponges and Stampin' Dimensionals.
The prize envelopes were made using the Polka Dot Parade DSP in colors Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Real Red, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. These are all colors from the Bright Color family which makes it so easy to match up with coordinating cardstock.
So when are you booking your party?

Papillon Dreaming
Here's yet another card we will be doing at my upcoming Private Class. I have been planning these projects to tantalize the newbie stamper by using products that I feel are good investments.
Today's card once again uses the magnificent Big Shot.
My card from yesterday used the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder while today's card uses the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.
Embossing folders make deep impressions in a single sheet of paper when run through the Big Shot.
What is really great about embossing folders is that they only cost $7.95 yet make such an astounding difference. So once you get a Big Shot of your own, you must stock up on a full arsonry of embossing folders at such a reasonable cost.
Now, I don't expect newbie stampers to purchase a Big Shot their first day, but I don't want to deprive them of a taste of the Big Shot wonders. Truly the Big Shot is a wondrous contraption that makes dreams come true.
Here's the card that features the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.
Do you see the dreamy Woodgrain embossing? I love how it looks in Very Vanilla. Simple yet elegant.
The other colors adding to the simplicity of this card are Island Indigo and Crumb Cake. I can never get enough of these colors. They're just so satisfying. I stamped the background butterflies in Crumb Cake to add to the "dream". The extra touch of Crochet Trim with a button tied with Linen thread are simple touches for just a bit of "je ne sais quoi."
